On behalf of the Jobs Australia Board, I would like to offer a warm welcome to the New Year. I would also like to acknowledge the resilience, collegial support and hope many member organisations have displayed during significant challenges as the result of numerous natural disasters across the country.
2019 was a year of renewal for Jobs Australia, led by our very experienced and passionate CEO. A highly competent leadership team have been appointed as well as new staff, strengthening our capabilities and creating greater efficiencies. We farewelled a number of long term staff, wishing them well as they moved on to new opportunities.
The AGM acknowledged the significant contribution of outgoing Board Directors Penny Alliston Hall and Tony Mulan. We welcomed two new Directors, Lynne Graham(NSW) nominated by MeiWel Group – Hunter Valley Disability Services and Shaun Fowler(WA),nominated by East Kimberley Jobs Pathways. We welcomed Lynne and Shaun at the October Board meeting following the AGM, hosted at Jobs Australia new national office in South Melbourne. 2020 has commenced with our ongoing commitment and priority to engage, support and listen to our members. The Board have moved to a contemporary model of engagement using technology for Board and Committee meetings and a strategic planning session has been scheduled for April. Plans are well underway for the Jobs Australia Conference– Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow. We will be taking this opportunity to celebrate our 30th anniversary, which is an incredible milestone. I hope to see you at the conference in Sydney on the 18 and 19 May.
