Casual conversion process due by 27 September for casuals employed before 27 March 2021

As a follow up to our April 2021 Newsletter, the Omnibus legislation amendments to the Fair Work Act 2009 (cth) (FW Act) have significant implications for the employment of casual workers.  Employers are now required to offer permanent full-time or part-time employment to certain casual employees after a period of time.  Where a casual is not entitled to such an offer, employers must advise the worker in writing of that decision. Employers must conduct this process by 27 September 2021 for any casual who commenced employment before the amendments commenced on 27 March 2021.
