The series of ATN Professional Development workshops from March - September 2009 has been designed to enhance your organisation’s capacity for compliance, quality and continuous improvement as training providers. We hope you can use these workshops to build on your organisation’s quality management and for the Professional Development of all your staff. MARKETING, COSTING & BUDGETING YOUR VET BUSINESS
This hands-on workshop will equip your trainers/assessors and administration staff with the knowledge and ability to effectively market, cost out and budget for your vocational education and training business.
The workshop will be facilitated by Matthew Trounce, the Business Development Manager from Innovation and Business Skills Australia (IBSA).

DEVELOPING AQTF COMPLIANT ASSESSMENT TOOLS
This hands-on workshop will equip your trainers/assessors with the knowledge and ability to ensure the assessment tools they use or develop meet the current standards expected by AQTF auditors. It will also provide each trainer/assessor with excellent evidence towards Recognition of Current Competency for the unit ‘TAAASS402B - Develop Assessment Tools’.
The workshop has been developed by Jobs Australia Ltd based on its knowledge and experience as a national provider of qualifications.
The workshop will cover:

Planning assessment tool development

Clustering units of competency

Developing observation checklists

Developing question and answer tools

Developing portfolio tools and instructions to candidates

Developing third party report tools
Participants are required to bring a copy of at least one FULL unit of competency (copied from Training Package) to the workshop, from which they will be developing at least one assessment tool.

VALIDATION OF ASSESSMENT TOOLS AND EVENTS
This hands-on workshop will provide the opportunity for organisations to get a range of their current assessment tools and practices officially validated and equip participants with the evidence to meet the annual validation requirements of the AQTF. It will also provide each trainer/assessor with excellent evidence towards Recognition of Current Competency for the unit ‘TAAASS404B Participate in assessment validation’
The workshop has been developed by Jobs Australia Ltd based on its knowledge and experience as a national provider of qualifications.
Each participant will be required to bring three copies of: i) Unit/s of Competency (from Training Package or NTIS) with Range Statement and full Assessment Guidelines; ii) Assessment Tools used to assess the unit/s of competency; and iii) Samples or a list of evidence that tool/s will produce.
