Managing employees is always a challenging task. But it gets more challenging during periods of change.
This year, on top of the constant day to day challenges, many nonprofit community organisations are facing:
Morning Workshop 9.15am – 1pm
(Morning tea and lunch included)
These workshops are designed to focus on the issues that matter to you. Topics covered include:

The new Fair Work Act, especially:
-
Changes to unfair dismissal provisions;
-
Agreement making;
-
Award modernisation; and
-
Transmission of business
-
Restructuring – including both redundancy and the challenges of growth;
-
Recruitment, selection and employment contracts;
-
Managing employees with ill health;
-
Relevant local issues (such as the Pay Equity case in Qld, the Neighbourhood Houses agreement in Victoria)
The workshops are designed for anyone in your organisation who manages staff or who has responsibility for strategic decision making.
Optional Afternoon Clinic 1.30pm – 3.30pm
The morning workshop is followed by an optional clinic session in the afternoon. This session will focus on:
- Managing change for positive outcomes
- Participant issues (nominated on the day)
in more depth. The objective is to allow more scope for participants to workshop issues of particular current interest in a small group setting.
